N.B DERWENTWATER IS NOT A LAKE IN NAME-IT IS JUST DERWENTWATER THE LAKES IN THE LAKE DISTRICT ARE MERES, THWAITES OR OTHER LOCAL NAMES FOR LAKES, PLEASE BE SURE NOT TO UPSET LOCAL PEOPLE, WHO MAY THROW YOU IN THE WATER-WHATEVER IT IS CALLED!!

trikermike you seem to be super critical of everybody elses photos,try uploading some of your own!

And trikermike is quite wrong. They are all lakes but only one actually has lake in its name: Bassenthwaite Lake. Nice capture, steandeb.

My point is that the lakes in the lake district are not KNOWN as lakes, except for bassenthwaite lake, they are all known as something else-waters, meres or tarns (to name just 3I was brought up in that area,it's a tricky question for tourists

Thanks for the compiment Mike. Below the painting further down on the page you can see the paintings I have on eBay. They don't sell for much but I'm hoping one day maybe I'll be able to make a living! Anyway, again, a lovely picture.

You ought to put exhibitions on of your work, that worked for me in the past, when I had a surfiet of paintings, Joining local art groups can open doors to local club exhibitions too, as do most picture framing establishments, I have found. Good luck in making a fortune but you need a second plan as back-up!..I only paint for me, same with photography, but if they are attractive to others, it only remains to fix a price!
