Graham very dramatic in B/w.A big restoration job especially out in the open.We have a large steam museum here in NSW work like that is carried out indoors it's a long job. Also like the shots of the old station restoration it's great to see this sort of work being carried all over the world,it's an era a generation has never known.Kind Regards Brian.

woo-ee

thanks Б.Ярцев - great to hear from you

I'm using Dynamic-Photo HDR Giles - mostly on price initially - but like anything, one you've done the experimenting, you get used to getting the best from what you're used to :)

Thanks again Marketa :)

If you saw the colour version, it would look even further off Nick - that whole front section is red with rust, but you have to admire the guys who stick at it, don't you?

thanks Brian - I just remember being pulled by a steam loco, and I certainly remember standing on a footbridge waiting to be engulfed on the smoke as locos passed under - but as you say, a passed era, but one everybody seems to hanker after :)

thanks again for the Y* Dimitris - you are very generous

and you too Strucki :)

thanks Kevin - I love this digital B&W conversions

thanks and very best regards to all

Hi Graham. These loco's so cry out for this kind of photographic treatment. You have done this proud. This reminds me to go out and find some more loco shots myself. YS awarded -congratulations, Herb

Graham Hobbs on September 20, 2010

I couldn't decide whether to do this in colour to show the front portion red with rust or in mono to give it its dignity Herb - but I think I made the right choice - thanks for that :)

Definitely the right choice! like a lot Graham! I feel the same as Herb, show me the loco... This one you wouldn't mind being tied to the track in front of it. Cheer William

Graham Hobbs on October 6, 2010

I think you'll be quite safe for a while yet, William - but yup, it looks like it was once a magnificent loco, and hopefully will be again :0 - thanks for that :)

great b/w work! I like it.

Cheers, Mario

Graham Hobbs on November 17, 2010

thanks Mario - it seemed a natural for the treatment, and it saved the old loco the embarrassment of showing the rust :)
