Hi Wilber! Thanks for your kindness! This is a minaret which I took the pic to in Buxoro/Bukhara/Bukhoro (how many names for one town...;-)). Minarets are distinctive architectural features of Islamic mosques. Minarets are generally tall spires with onion-shaped crowns, usually either free standing or much taller than any surrounding support structure.(I got this definition in wikipedia, 'cause it explains what it is better than I'd do). By the way it was an impressive trip in a wonderful country!
