Very nice evening shot Mary Alice. How are you keeping? Surely it will be about time to cool down over with you? I'm wondering what kind of fruit you can grow in Georgia Mary Alice? I'm guessing because of the heat, a fairly wide range? Recently, it was my pleasure to see oranges on trees for the first time in Italy. I love to see things 'in the wild', so to speak. Anyway, your photo conjures up exactly what one might think of when they heard the name 'Georgia'. Lovely as ever to visit your gallery. Keep well.
Good afternoon, Martin, and how nice to find that you've stopped by. I'm glad you enjoyed this pretty evening view! I just happened to be there at the exact perfect time. Two minutes later, and this glorious glow was completely gone. Thank you again for your many kind words.
Things are good here, but we're still struggling with the extreme heat and humidity. I don't know when relief is in sight. The ten day forecast still shows close to 100 degrees all next week. Maybe in a few more weeks ...... :) Fruit? Well we have all kinds of fruit growing around here, mainly peaches. Georgia IS the Peach State! We also have apples, watermelon, strawberries, grapes, muscadines, blueberries, pears, cantaloupes and many, many veggies to ....... potatoes, corn, onions, cabbage, beans, squash, tomatoes, etc. At any given corner, one can easily find a roadside stand selling fresh produce all the time! It's so much fun to buy is FRESH! Anyway, I didn't mean to ramble on, but thank you so much for your interest and kind visit. It's always such a pleasure talking with you.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Whoops, I 've just seen it's Alabama! Sorry! Although to myself, I sort of imagine a similar type of place. Yes, timing is crucial for this type of shot. I have missed lots of shots because of getting there just a few minutes too late. Thanks for the information about the fruit and veg. I'll bet they are fairly cheap to buy too being in such plentiful supply. Things are a bit expensive here unfortunatly. The Republic of Ireland is even worse. They all got rich a few years ago, and all the shops and estate agents raised the prices! Mind you, we live on an island, so tough!
No worries, Martin! It's actually very close to the Georgia/Alabama line, and I almost forgot that it was taken in Alabama too! :) I rarely travel out of Georgia, so I'm used to all of my shots being from here too. I hadn't given it a second thought until you brought it to my attention.
I went to a local Peach packing plant over the weekend for some homemade Peach Ice Cream, and thought of you! You would absolutely LOVE the place! :)
Wishing you a wonderful week!
I've never tried peach ice cream, it must be something! I would love to see it made. Thanks Mary Alice!
Martin, Yes, you WOULD love to see it made. It is quite an entertaining and delightful process. You would LOVE it, and the taste is out of this world! I wish so much that I could send you some. :) They also serve fresh Strawberry and Buttered pecan Ice Cream as well! Oh, so yummy! Let me know when you're ready to come visit Georgia for a cool and refreshing Ice Cream treat! :)
