Stone Sculptures & Wildlife on Humber River (Peter Riedel)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

These stone sculptures appeared one hot August day out of the blue.

Even the Heron was perplexed, as this is his usual hunting ground.

There were about 40 on this stretch of the river. I was talking with a lady, who was watching the guy to build them. It probably took this person all day to erect these! But, it is still hot here, so it was probably a pleasant day to spend in the river.

The fella that does these Rock-Balancing "Sculptures" is -- PETER RIEDEL... He's been doing these for the past 10 yrs or more & particularly favors Humber River. There's a Hot Docs Video, that features some very IMPRESSIVE work he's done at Webster Falls, and he's been featured in a short Film called "15 Reasons to Live".
