Indeed it is. Thanks for stopping by. Best regards, Larry
This tree (the coastal variety of Douglas Fir) is co-champion with a tree in Oregon.
Measurements for this tree
Diameter: 13 feet/3.96 meters. Circumference: 42 feet/12.80 meters. Height: 281 feet/85.65 meters
Is this the tree known as "Tichipawa"? the one in Quinalt Lake Rain Forest Olympic National Park? Cheers
I only know it as the Queets Fir.
Best regards, Larry.
Thanks, i need to see the largest douglas's, i've only really explored the giant sequoia on my visits from england.
Thank you Larry for your comment on my Cairo pic. I love your great nature captures - truly unbelievable!
Sunny regards from Egypt
Sorry I missed your comment bradluke. There are many large Douglas-fir in my area. This one is difficult to get to much of the year as you have to ford the river when the flow is low.
You are welcome and thank you Frank! I wish it were sunny here.
Best regards, Larry
