Looks great, Rich! Excellent for freestyle climber, I guess!
Greetings May, I don't even know if you are allowed to climb around on the rocks. I imagine your are, but we never saw any body climbing. Maybe motorcycle drivers don't climb ;) . Thanks for visiting and commenting.
Well Rich, you have so many good places to climb in the USA, that they wouldn't even be noticed, I think. It must be nice to drive along those roads and feel the wind, while riding a motorcycle. :)
Greetings May, You are right on both counts. Climbing is abundant here in Colorado for sure. The roads in many places are seemingly made for driving pleasure. The roads in Custer State Park, South Dakota are those type of roads and well suited for motorcycles. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
As much as I know this is sacred land of many native tribes and maybe climbing is not allowed?! Quite a shame it's called Custer State Park, don't you think? In any case I love the pictures of an area I have read a lot about. Thanks Rich for sharing them with us. Cheers, Sonny
Greetings Sonny, Thanks for visiting the Needles Highway. Your comments are very intuitive. I think the rules for climbing in here are probably no existent. The area is sacred to the native American Indian but I think their only strong hold is the Crazy Horse Monument. They are doing a very excellent educational program there. The rest of the Black Hills are very commercialized and very touristy. Devil's Tower is an excellent blend of land use and observance of ancient Indian religious customs. Regardless, if you can get past all the commercialism the Black Hills are beautiful. Thanks again for visiting.
Hi Rich, thank you for all the information. I don't like the image of touristy Black Hills though. But I am not allowed to complain - being from a very small country - Austria - I'm a tourist in more than 99 percent of the world!LOL
