Lovely close up, Ian. I can still feel the dramatic landscape in the background. If there were no motorbikes, this could almost be taken in NZ.
Beautiful composition. Amazing shot.
Cheers from Hong Kong, Jeff
Good photo with the background. Greetings, Mats.
Have a happy week ahead.
Dear Ah-Pong and Sig,
You have noticed the difference between Thailand and New Zealand, I recognize!! Yes with such Western European architecture before a volcanic landscape it could be out of New Zealand - ah but those Asian motor cycles are there.
Perhaps I should hasten to reply to Sig now, for if it weren't for the species of tropical trees it could be Iceland with the juxtaposition of Christian architecture and dramatic volcanic backdrop!
Warm greetings to you both,
Dear Mats and Jeff,
I appreciate your affirmations on the composition and the subject. Thank you for your kindness and friendship.
Beautiful church and very nice shot.
Thanks Achiper. I appreciate your affirmation. Best wishes,
Hello Ian. This is a nice one.. So different to the Rusian Orthordox Churches we see here on Panoramio. Very nice indeed. Like, Kind REgards, David
There is much more German and Dutch protestant influence here in the Christian architecture. Glad you find this appealing.
All the best, my friend.
Thank you indeed, Marian. It is a very special and unique place.
All the best,
Hermosas tus fotos.. esta me gusto. saludos desde San Rafael Mendoza - Republica Argentina.. LIKE para esta foto.
Thanks Juan Carlos. This church is on the island of Samosir in Lake Toba, Indonesia. It is in quite a dramatic location, so it is an impressive scene.
If you have some spare time, I'd be willing to help you repaint the red roof on the steeple!! It is overdue for a repaint!!!
Warm regards from Sydney.
what a challenge. Great work!
Thank you for your response, Shalom57.
Shalom - Salaam - Grace.
You are an encourager, Carlos. Thanks for the appreciation of this image.
This Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (Batak Protestant Christian Church) is located on Samosir Island in Lake Toba. It is a stunning area. The landscape is majestic, and the culture distinctive.
