Wow .... this is very interesting. I bet it was so beautiful at one time. It makes me curious as to why they let it fall apart ~ Why it wasn't kept up, even though I know it's older than I can probably even imagine. Still the ruins hold such character and grace. It's a lovely image from the past.

Hi MaryAlice I think it is from later 12th C. Some of these buildings were abandoned for different reasons. Sometimes the monks' group extinguished or either the French destroyed it or even the State took possession of it selling it to someone not interested in preserving it. The value given to those buildings decades ago was different and sometimes none. Thanks for commenting Best regards :-) nik
