This is a male cardinal, Maja, who lives in my yard with his family. You don't have cardinals? He is probably the most colorful species around this area. The female is more brownish with flecks of red & yellow. I'm happy you Like him! I like your new picture, too!

No dear Marlene, we don't have this beauty around here.... thought it was a parrot first :) lovely one - typical in a way that the female wseems to be more flirty in his colours :))) ~ compliments, for the photo and the nice company in your backyard!

Yes, Tanja, there is a lot to see! The area was a nature preserve before housing invaded.

Definitely no parrots in Michigan, Maja, but the cardinals stay around all winter to brighten up the landscape!
