Hi Pam, this figure like others are on medieval buildings at the main market place. I did forget to ask what they are. I only can see the religous aspect. But I wanted to take photos of them because sometimes the details tell more about a city than the usual shots.

hi Carsten, das Haus ist die "Steipe" ein Repräsentations- und Versammlungshaus der Trierer Ratsherren aus dem 15. Jhd. und steht am "Hauptmarkt". Insgesamt sind an der Fassade 4 Figuren von Stadtpatronen zu finden: Petrus, Helena, Jakobus d.Ä. und Paulus. Um letzteren handelt es sich hier. Sehr schönes Foto!
