St Julien basilica is Constructed in XI & XII centuries. In the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries the nave was covered with a Gothic arch type. Saint Julien de Brioude is a pilgrimage church, to the rank of Minor Basilica in 1957. The popularity of St. Julien explains the dimensions of the church (the largest of Auvergne, France).
