Breathtaking light and wondrous landscape once again. Great combination. ☆ + L
It looks as if someone purposely created a river that has to flow through those winding and much vegetated gorges.
Very beautiful scenery

Wow, great area and picture Ian. I like the light. Greetings Berend
Oh this just HAS to be zoomed, to fully appreciate it, Ian!
The upper lighting and sense of distance are superb, and I was intrigued by the intricacies of the irrigation system off the river into the rice paddies(?) down below. No space is wasted, it seems.
It is a beautiful country and I thank you for taking us along with you, to show us all its little unvisited/non-touristy treasures!
Thank you Ah-Pong. I haven't yet been able to geo-locate the photo for that area of Java is so densely populated and complex that I can't work out where I was. But I will persevere. I am grateful for your accolades, thanks. It was a wonderful environment to explore.
All the best,

Thanks indeed, Gosia (I am still used to your full name - but thanks very much for your friendship.) I am very pleased that you are able to enjoy some of the interesting places I am able to visit. Thanks for the 'like' hit, too.
All the best from Tonga.
Your comment seems to have just arrived for some odd reason. And it is very much appreciated. I loved my morning descent into this valley, and the climb back didn't phase me as the coolness and the beauty were so refreshing.
Thanks also Wermut. It is not the land of big rivers like Siberia but it is a wonderful volcanic landscape full of surprises, such as this narrow gorge and the change of direction of the stream.
Forgive me for overlooking to reply to your much appreciated comment. That you can identify with me, imagining this as a view from my lodgings almost, as well as appreciating the artificial details of this dramatic setting is special. Thank you indeed.
