This picture shows motor boats moored on the bank of the River Ouse near Linton Locks. These were not there in the 1930s and 1940s because as that time this stretch of the river was packed with people every week end in summer who swam and paddled in the river at this point. It was here that I learnt to swim and dive from an old barge that had been left here after the locks had been repaired
