Not mapped yet! Its like looking for a needle in a haystack, Im sat looking at a map of the route we took, somewhere along the B8 I shouted stop the car, stop the car and jumped out to photograph this tree! Now imagine looking at a forest on Google Earth and trying to pinpoint one tree.

Hi Kenny

I see you have been on the trail of the lonesome pine

Our Jethro would be far too young to remember!

All the best Peter

Great link Peter and whilst he might deny it Jethro will remember it!

No, I have heard those scratchy cylindrical recordings of L&H singing the song and thank you for the YouTube link - most incongruous.

But did you know.......... Stan Laurel came from Cumbria (or at least Ulverston)?

I dunno why thats important but some things need to be.

This tree is strangely growing out of the ground where it's meant to, but only just, by the looks of it! - bb
