what are your sources?

I was taken there by a Native American friend of mine last August. There is a big mural honoring Ishi painted on the wall of the old Oroville jail. You can see my photo of the mural here in Panoramio.

I took my friend's word for it that it was the old jail, but now that I think of it, is there a plaque on the north side of the building?

i go there often. i wouldve noticed a plaque if there was one. there might be though. i'll have to look again. i always just stop at the mural really quick and move on. i like that liberty pole thing thats there. that thing is cool.

Please let me know one way or another.

Is that the courthouse next door? You could ask there about the jail.

if you mean that other building in the same park, its the board of education.

I guess I assumed it was a courthouse.

I've been looking in "Ishi the Last Yahi" by Heizer and Kroeber. The jail is mentioned many times but never its location.
