A "posh do". No Idea of the location. My father is the be-spectacled fellow, back row, second from the left. My mother is the aloof-looking young lady, at the centre, back row. The guy, back row, far right, almost looks like Stan Laurel! - bb
A wonderful photo!

Bruce - A Gatsby party would almost be the USA equivalent, though I suspect this is a business "do"/ "Dinner Dance", and now I think about it again, it's probably being held in either Manchester or Sheffield. As you say, nearly a century ago! Best wishes - Jim
Hi Jim thanks for your earlier comments. I am sorry that I don't have much time left for a quick reply. THis collection of historical shot is great, I like them all! nik
Thanks very much nik for viewing all my latest "oldies". I'm enjoying showing them. Unfortunately this "journey into the past" will be ending in about three weeks time, as I will have reached to near the advent of photography itself! Best regards from a fellow "weirdy" - Jim

Yes I think this one is priceless! It captures some of the inter-war spirit of of "living it up". It's almost as if that generation "knew" they should have some fun before the privation and horror of WW2 came. Thanks again Marion for your visit and showing so much interest in these photos of "bygone times" - bb
