How many of you could harness up a three horse hitch?

What a fantastic country scene Joy, I can imagine being back in my grandparents/greatgranparents time when they did this and I loved so much hearing them tell of the wonderful farm life. Such great photos here in this series, Joy.

The hay looks pretty brown, must have had some rain...this would just be way too much work!

It does look like they are harvesting mulch hay.

Yesterday I walked the hay field where I have just moved to. Unlike Northern Vermont, they have had no rain down here this summer. The 12 acre field might yield 60 bales of hay if we are lucky and can cut it very short. It has been just too dry in this area to make a second cutting. Up where I left they are cutting the fourth cutting and getting a great crop. It was raining yesterday when I left.
