Dont know much about it apart from being over 300 years old. Popular with weddings. I guess the meringues look well in the rural setting :-)

LOLOLOL oh what a romantic you are! ;)
300 years probably seems very young there but since we treasure buildings that are just over a hundred years ones like the above would have quite the history.

The big one in Graiguenamanagh is over 800 years old, nearly 300 years before Colombus! But as I said to Bruce, Newgrange monument pre-dates the pyramids.

The newgrange monument link is fascinating! (I'll be spending more time there :)
This quote caught my eye "The passage and chamber of Newgrange are illuminated by the winter solstice sunrise. A shaft of sunlight shines through the roof box over the entrance and penetrates the passage to light up the chamber. The dramatic event lasts for 17 minutes at dawn from the 19th to the 23rd of December."
I've always enjoyed stories that incorporate locations like the above in them. Diana Gabaldon's story Outlander has always been a favorite of mine (not so much the series but curiousity as to what happens to the characters keeps me reading the next installment).
