Wow, awsome picture Kevin was this full telephoto? I see there was LOTS of light.

Thanks again, buddy! No, not full telephoto but just under 1/2 ... roughly 170mm equivalent. Obviously I was very happy to get this one. Either the stealth mode on my kayak has begun to function or this pelican was extremely tolerant of me being this close!

Hard to imagine how you can get such sharp photos from a kayak (stealth or not) at f/3.6 even though it was at 1/1000 sec. Or were you stuck in solid mud and put the tripod on the bow? It's really awesome. I would not even dare to take my camera with me in a kayak, afraid I might drop it (or myself holding it) overboard.

Jeroen, Thank you! hahaha, not stuck in the mud yet, just fortunate to have relatively calm waters! I won't deny being awefully nervous at times about having my camera along for paddling ... especially when I don't have a backup.
