Danke, Julia! Diese Dame ist Annette von Droste - Hülshoff, eine Adlige, die im 19. Jahrhundert viele schöne und bedeutende Gedichte und Erzählungen geschrieben hat. Am bekanntesten ist "Die Judenbuche". Vielleicht hast Du ja mal Gelegenheit, es zu lesen; es lohnt sich wirklich! :-)

I understand she is one of the most important German authors.

I found her birth place on the Wikipedia: Burg Hülshoff in Havixbeck. EXCITING PLACE!!
