Yes, Ainars, those are probably gulls, though there were other sea birds in the area. They certainly weren't pelicans, though this one was right nearby! I have some fairly close-up shots of smaller birds that I may post someday.

What a huge difference the time of day and the type of weather can make. Here is my other shot of the same beach!

Thanks, Bruce and Syl. It was very quiet because this was just a couple months after Hurricane Wilma, I believe, and our group of about 30 was the first "large" group to be accommodated on the island since then. (Much damage was still being repaired.) But oh! it was beautiful!
