I took this sequence in 2008 at Mucking creek; it's just up river from Canvey Island and the new Deep Sea Port that's currently being built on the former Shell Haven Site. It is also the site of one of the largest UK landfill sites and somehow still looks enchanting in the fog. I fished here a lot as a kid and this was my first visit since then.

this landfill site is now being developed into a country park. walk this part of the river ofton. as a residence of stanford-le-hope it will be nice to walk further on a cold foggy morning.

I was down there earlier this year and they've chopped a big hole in the wall between Rainbow Road and Wharf Road - It was quite a shock to see after my last visit; I wasn't really sure where I was as I came out of the bottom of Wharf Road - I'll have to dig-out my sea fishing gear to see if it fishes any better then it did in the early eighties!! - Lee

saw this being dug out, was quite a shock at the time as i was walking it that morning.this has been done to take the water displacement for the new port. this has now made it a nature reserve-which can only be a good thing. =kinderbill
