Two hundred Jizo Temple

Le temple des Deux Cents Jizo se trouve à l'entrée du petit village de Naraijuku sur la route historique Nakasendo. En réalité, la majorité de ces deux cents "Jizo" sont des "Kannon", autre divinité féminine du Bouddhisme. Le long de cette route, les "Kannon" sont souvent assimilées aux "Jizo" dont ils partagent les mêmes rôles de protection des voyageurs.

The temple of the Two hundred Jizo is located at the entrance of the small village of Naraijuku on the historical road of Nakasendo. In reality, the majority of thoses two hundred "Jizo" are "Kannon", an other feminine divinity of Bouddhism. Along this road, "Kannon" are often assimilated to "Jizo" for they share the same role of protection of travellers.
