I hadn't previously noticed the "Colorado quilt" shots, Ian. They are beautiful as well as fascinating! What season would it have been? Best wishes, Marilyn

Greetings from St George, Queensland where the farmers are rejoicing in the opportunity to harvest water from their land and from the river. Their irrigation allocations accounts are full again and th country is covered in a deep blanket of green. Quite a different landscape from that of Ontario (or Alberta, or Switzerland or Alsace or Ukraine or Colorado) at the moment. The Colorado Quilt photos were taken 18 June 2005. Should you or any other Panoramio friend be able to better locate them I would be pleased, for I am not able to be precise - I just cannot match GE and th images, though I have them in the approximate area. I was enthralled by Colorado for the whole of my visit. I loved its granduer and delighted in its many surprises. Stay warm, Ian

Dear Marilyn,

In a footnote over a year ago, I mentioned that I hadn't been able to precisely locate either of the Colorado Quilt photos. I have now, and while this one is a Colorado quilt, the other one turns out to be a Utah Underlay!

Warm greetings,

The satellite image is, itself, interesting to see, and the picture remains fascinating.

I was quite enthralled by the window view on my SFO - Denver flight, as I guess you are often as you criss-cross your continent. But I would love someone to be able to make a quilt just like this for my bed!

I am satisfied now that both images have been located precisely.

Best regards, Marilyn.

I reckon that this is the Great American West! Glad you like it, McSky.

The start of the dry country - the melting earth (melting, but very slowly us humans would say...)
