pinkdaisy, Thank you for your visit and your kind remarks - both very much appreciated! I'm glad you like these sunrises.

Fantastic sunrise photo.

Does your camera have a lens cap and not a built in lens cover? Because if you are able to put on a lens cap, you are also able to put on a Neutral Density and Polarizer filter. The ND filter is really good for taking long exposures when there's too much light and the circular polarizer does a great job at removing reflections (if you want it to) and it also helps the ND filter. I have only used them on my Nikon D70, but I hope someday soon I can be rid of the trees (and actually be able to see a sunset/sunrise) and try them out on my Canon, which can fit any 52mm filter.

Have a great day up in NC!

Cheers

Liam

Liam, Yep - At times I use a 2-stop circular polarizer and a 4-stop ND ... sometimes I even stack those two together. The prescribed way to use lens filters with my camera is in combination with an adapter tube. Problem with the adapter is I have to increase the focal length significantly to prevent vignetting caused by the tube. A couple months ago I fashioned a device to eliminate the adapter tube and I now have the full scale of focal length to work with when using my filters. (YAY!)

Believe me, I really like my lens filters! This one and this one and this one and this one are a few of my favorites with both filters in place.

Looks like you've been getting some great sky conditions of late. Our skies have actually been too clear (pretend I didn't say that). Like

Cheers, Randy.

Hahaha, Randy, exactly - better be careful what we wish for!

Wow this is seriously good Kevin despite the ungodly hour of the morning!

What great colours. I am gonna have to start getting up again in the mornings, there is nothing else for it!

Cheers from down east.

Jethro, Thank you for the 'seriously good' review ... that's much more better than just good to me! :)

deep21 and ocminter,

Thanks to you both for the comments! I just revisited this spot at daybreak this morning. No interesting clouds this time around but I'm hopeful for at least one keeper :)
