I have to agree with you Manda. I think it has more to do with the interpretation or misinterpretation. The cultural differences are greater than I imagined it would be.
I did not capture what I really felt, and what I felt in Tokyo was a melancholy, a pervasive sadness. The deadly quiet in the packed underground trains, rows of people in parks not talking. A fascinating place for a westerner. It left a very good impression on me nonetheless.
