True Jim, but not of this character I think. But yes we have one quite close that I got a few shots of during the spring that I was happy with.

nice photo, Jim. a typical UK city, with brick walls, and a quay with quite a lot of people. This was, I presume, a hollyday? Do you have pictures of Whitby took from the sea? Gretings François

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on March 7, 2011

BritPlom~~~~My humble apologies for the late reply :)

I am unable to remember if this was a holiday...The town is a favourite resort for hundreds of thousands of tourists and is an all-year round attraction.

I have found a few Ariel Photos of the town..Strangely, the pictures of Whitby taken from the sea give little indication of what exists beyond the piers..I put this down to the high cliffs and steep valley in which the town is situated!

Thanks for your visit and nice comment ;)

Very interesting view to the Whitby. In the photo it looks like a big city, LIKE. Greetings, volnat

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on April 13, 2011

Thanks Volnat ;) The population is around 15,000 but this can easily tremble during the summer months as the leisure industry, on which the local economy depends, attracts many tourists!
