The first owner of Stāmeriena manor house was Johann Gottlieb von Wolff, and it was inherited by his descendants following his death. The manor house was built in the Historicist style in 1835. After it was burnt down during the 1905 revolution, the manor house was restored in 1908 with elements of Art Nouveau.
This place was visited on a number of occasions by the Italian writer Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, author of the novel Il Gattopardo (The Leopard).
