A very handsome family, bb, and a fine collection of photos - every square inch an excursion into dress and form, furnishings of an era long past! Isn't it marvelous - thanks for sharing and a happy hello from a mild and very rainy Oregon Coast (O:

To celebrate a year of being with Panoramio, this is the first in a series of photos documenting the origins of beamish boy and his journey through life. - bb

Thanks very much Suzi. I really like your comments and flattering remarks about my family! As you imply Suzi - "Very different days, and very different ways" - back then! Greetings from an already Autumnal SW Ireland - bb

Hello Beamish boy, no doubt this is the oldest photo on Panoramio :-) ... interesting overview of generations of your family, you have a big chance to have those pictures. liked

You may be right that this is one of the oldest photos on Panoramio! Though I have seen other galleries with old family photos also. Thanks for your like, and glad that you've enjoyed viewing my family photo archives, though few other people seem to appreciate these photos judging by the relatively small number of views! Best wishes from Beara, Ireland - Jim

Dominik Maximilián R… on February 24, 2011

Maybe the small number of views is also due to the fact that the are not (and cannot be) geotagged. A lot of people would see them in GE otherwise.

Jim Mills on February 24, 2011

You're absolutely right Dominik. A lot of good photos of mine (other than family portraits) have low views because they've not been accepted in Google Earth even when geotagged! I know this is Panoramio's general policy, which I guess we have to accept. After all it is called "Panoramio" and not "Portraito"! Thanks for your interest. - Jim*

I've been tracing my family roots for several years so I always appreciate other peoples interest in their history. I didn't think about posting old family photos on this site but I think I may have to try it. Thanks for the idea! CJ

Thanks again Carol. It can be a bit delicate about showing any family photos. If you decide to post some family photo's make sure you're happy about it, though you can always delete photos if you have second thoughts. Best of luck! - Jim
