3/13" : The World Heritage site of Ironbridge Gorge covers an area of 5.5 km2 (550 ha) and is located in Telford, Shropshire, about 50 miles northwest of Birmingham. The Industrial Revolution has its origins in the eighteenth century in the Ironbridge Gorge before spreading to the rest of the world, bringing with it some of the most significant changes in human history.
