Saint Leon sur Vezere

i liked this one too. all your photos seems a bit different, i wonder why.

Maybe because they were originally slides. They have much more contrast than digital images. It's often difficult to scan, but sometimes it makes interesting effects

what do you mean with "originally slides"? How do you increase the contrast of images, with the help of programs?

Sorry for my english ! I just meant the original pictures were color transparencies (Ektachromes generally, Kodachrome for the oldest). Colors are much more saturated and contrasted than digital images, so my problem is generally to reduce contrast rather than increase it! I do it first with scanners settings, and sometimes I still have to adjust the level of each color in Photoshop after scanning. Even so, results are not always perfect : in this picture, if you look at the reflections in the water, you will see the balance between blue and red is not very good. But this one is a Fujichrome, it's the worst of all!

St. Leon is such a perfect geometric beauty. How clever to have taken the photo from across the Vezere. Next time you go, throw some stones in the river just opposite the church; the ripples in the water are reflected in wave after wave on the limestone wall above. Fabulous.
