Interested in your comments on this one ... full size works best and also looks much better against a black background (too bad for me Pano doesn't offer that option)
Excellent!! Nothing to discuss about it. ;-)
Not so fast! :)
And yet, it's a very good shot.
Draken, Thank you for saying so - much appreciated!
theverbiage, thank you as well, and for the critique also, excellent observation! You make a good point about the light being visible across the snow (would it or not???) - I'm having a terrible time deciding what would be visible, where, and to what degree.
Hey, about those purple blooms ... any tips on selectively desaturating a color like that??
I think the light is fine (natural) on the most distant patch of snow in the center top, but then I think it would be invisible on the middle b/c of the angle.
Desaturation - Kevin, I'm using different software than you are - but assuming some overlap between menus & functions, I would select the areas where the offending bits are, then go to color (hue or other name for the same thing) and saturation command if available, select the blues (and desaturate them), then magentas (and reduce saturation), then possibly do this cyans... (the closest color "bands" available for this action in my software). Not sure if desaturating those colors in the whole image would work better or not. Sorry about leaving this "critiquy" comment here, but you can always delete it, right?
On the contrary - "critiquy" comments are welcome here!! Otherwise our friend Draken will have my critique thread moved to photography in a hurry! :)
I found the commands for the color correction (excellent tip!) This is going to be tricky with the way the violet hue has interlaced itself with the snow and such ...
It would be nice to see some detail on the left hand side, rather than just total darkness, even though it would probably loose some of the efectivness of the rays. Having said that, the background of the rays are over the snow and distant tress, so maybe it won't matter. Have a fiddle and see what you can come up with. I also think your mapping is out by about four foot. Honestly, thats just plain shoddy.
No reason for discussion, it´s very nice! I like it. Greetings, Jim
KC, You actually make good points here. I've gotten enough feedback to go back to this one soon.
Jim, Thanks! I'm glad you like it.
Please don't tell me I've started to make sense, I'll have to do something about that that pretty rapidly.
The warm colours really make it appear alive, despite the cold snow layered on top. I really like it.
Jacques, Thanks for the visit and the comment - I'm glad you like this one ... I'm rather fond of it myself!
Simply splendid! LIKE
Thank you, LensRoto.
