So....are these the photos you promised to show me just how low your water levels were;>))!
ERRrrr....... Yes Joy but it started raining before I got a chance to take the pictures, honest it did.
We have had 6 inches in the last 4 days which is filling (filled?) up our lakes nicely and ruined a lot of carpet east of us!
There'll be good kayaking in North Carolina now - Jethro
I'm wondering if you got my reply to this Jethro, I spent a bit of time in the early hours before sack-time, just to answer, now it seems I must have lost it!
Never mind, the photo is very descriptive of your recent weather, glad your tanks are full again, but take it easy in yer kayak in all that spume!
HERE IS SOMETHING i FOUND while searching for the original by the Rolling Stones.....enjoy, but stay in your seat! - none of that hip-hop !
AH-HA!! I found the same site what I sent before I think THIS IS FLOODING, locally surged storms caused havoc in the area of Northumberland and Cumberland that year. There are several pics on the site to flick through, none of them mine!
Seeya Mate! aam away noo fer me fish'n'chips!
Is that a dip in the pavement?
Thank you for the links Mike I watched the news this year of my home town Workington being flooded and the bridges being washed away! It was horrid.
Yes it is Kenny the pavement drops away to go under the main road (US1)and then rises the other side.
They have a flood control reservoir upstream. Why, we don't know because they never use it!!!
Mike - I watched the video you sent me the link to and now my missus needs to know how to get my blood pressure down from 160 over 104!
I like the little red kilt thing at about 2:40!!!!!
Well Jethro I take pills for my blood pressure!
I was dissapointed that 'Slippery when Wet' only had 2 mentions re Rolling stones , several re Bon Jovi's rip off, and that wee red kilt thing was the ONLY VIDEO of Slippery.... not a bit like the original!
..... but it made an old man very (well fairly) happy Mike.
Now go to bed!
Yes, my friend, the Workington floods were quite dramatic, affecting Cockermouth aswell, but the death of PC Bill Barker was a tragic loss.
Aye it were terrible. We followed it with hearts in our mouths Mike
We saw the BBC footage of Cockermouth. All the world will remember of the BBC reporting is the wool. Balls of wool everywhere! They could have done better.
Stay dry ol' chum.
