No, not models... I had just passed them and they made me laugh. They were, indeed, inviting every car to splash them. Most people (including myself), being terribly polite and British, drove wide to avoid splashing them. Two even stopped, and waited when it proved impossible to pull out because of oncoming cars. God knows what their mothers said when they came home drenched and mucky.
