Brazil is the first country on the production of sisal hemp of the world. It is produced widely in the semi-arid regions of Nordeste (Northeast Brazil), and Bahia is the leading production state of sisal. Photo: on March 7, 2007.
ブラジルは世界一のサイザル麻生産国である。熱帯半乾燥気候のブラジル北東部地方内陸部（セルトンSertão）でひろく栽培されており、とくにバイア州は最大の産地。高く延びた塔が目立つが、これはほとんど利用価値が無く、尖端が鋭くとがった葉から繊維がとれる。2007年3月７日撮影。
