Greetings Wermut, Thanks for visiting and commenting. In answer to your question, these are ice crystal in a cloud that refract the light into the colors of the rainbow. I do not know the technical name for the affect. I was happy to be able to get this picture.

Greetings Susan, Thanks for the wonderful comments. This photo was a lucky catch. I looked up and saw the clouds. I was able to get a couple of pictures and then the effect was gone. The ice crystals are beautiful. Thanks so much for all the visits.
