Wombourne rings a bell but who knows who's head its ringing in Peter. Is the weather great for walking still, now and do you stop come winter?

What is this place used for now?

Best wishes from a most inquisitive Jethro

Hi Jethro

Wombourne is to the southwest on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, and the main station building and booking office is now used as a tea room for ramblers on the South Staffordshire Railway Walk.

Here is some info and an old picture of the station

We have had some nice days recently, but a couple of days ago we started the first frosts. Of course we don't have winters now and Autumn is a lovely time to walk. I have a little difficulty at the moment as I suffer from Menieres Syndrome which produces bouts of vertigo. The attacks come in clusters with longer periods when I am as right as rain. But having lost my old walking mate and the wife still being at work it is a bit risky to go alone during a period of attacks. However until I start another period I will get out as often as I can, albeit locally.

All the best Peter
