Hey Priyanjan,

i just saw that you chose this pic of the buddha statue in Kurunegala as your favorite too. Please explain me what is so special about this pic. Here you can find the list of my pics, which have the most clicks. The 2nd best has 635 clicks. It is the West Tower of the WTC in CMB. I can understand that, cos it is a famous building in the biggest city of SL. I can imagine a lot of people see this pic on Google Earth, when they a scrolling around in CMB. But Kurunegala is (as far as i know) not that famous. So why so many guys click on this pic? You must know it, you gave it also a yellow star! :-) Is it just because of the aerial system 2 meters away? Ok for us (all we are not from SL) it´s very weird, but is that the reason...

Machan, For some reason I ddidn't see the comment. Anyway, the truth is that it was all an "accident" for me. You remember telling me that if I gave you a yellow star, then I would get a mail from GE everytime you posted new pictures. So I did give you a yellow star and in the process I had selected this picture as a favourite!!!. You know, I gave another chap a yellow star and once again "accidentally" I have selected one of his pictures also as a favourite!!!. I don't know how to eraze the selection. So, there is no actual reason. Anyway, why it's got so many cicks may be because Kurunegala is a well known town and has quite a large population and the rock on which the statue stands is a very very famous rock because of it's shape from which it gets it's name which is 'ETHU GALA' (meaning 'ELEPHANT ROCK', as it resembles a seated elephant). So any body scrilling over Kurunegala would defineatly check out the pictures relating to the rock. So, you get a lot of clicks. So that's it. Priyanjan.

By the way the best picture I like from your collection is the one with the two dagobas in Mihintale.

Alright! Thanx for the explanation. Didn´t know that Kurunegala ist that big. Do you know a number, how many people there live? Or do you know a list of the biggest cities in SL? An "accident"? So, thank you for the compliment :-)))). Very funny!!! It is very easy to erase this. Just do the same lihke you select it. Click the pic, an in the row over the pic you can click on the star to mark or to erase. That´s it. Very easy. So you can do the accident undone ;-)

Forgot something: This rock is called "elephant rock"? There is a second one in the yala NP, isn´t it? Later on i will be check out the new satellitepics from SL. Maybe i have to replace some of my pics.

Priyanjan, on June 1, 2008, said:

Yeah, there are quite a few rocks in various parts of the country called (translation) 'Elephant roc". Thanks for the instructions. I don't have the statistics o the populations of Kurunegala. But considering our 'standards' Kurunegala is a 'large' city. I can get you the details if you really want.
