The road in to the boulder opal mining area is surprisingly good,usually maintained by the miners themselves--when it's dry it is easily accessible by 2-wheel drive vehicles.-----Harsh,,,,but stunningly beautiful country. No wonder that some of the Opal miners prefer to be out here than anywhere else.
