do you have more on this?

Common opinion is that it is a dead body of the 1997 crash.

Name: Sathorn Unique Tower.

I live in Bangkok. Their are new derelict skyscrapers starting to appear. example Pace Condominiums Soi 37 Phahon Yothin Rd. Two ten stories towers one of them only two months from opening, one of them has even been painted. Builders went to the EPA to get a permit. EPA asked to see “Building Permit”, they could not produce, so EPA reported the matter to the BMA (Bangkok city government) the BMA stopped all work on the project. Story is builders had been bribing the Chatuchak council (local government). The condos were 80% pre sold, so a lot of unhappy, working couples. Word is they will be have to be knocked down.

so you are saying that Geza´s remark about the 5 meters too close to the Chao Phraya river might be one of the reasons for stopping construction by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration?

Interesting, if true.

Uwe Werner on July 5, 2008

well, no surprise. Except for the power of the BMA. Seems to be a power house according to your opinion.

Hi Uwe Werner

The "1997 Monument" you captured remain the same at the end of 2009, to remind us of the economic crisis.
