A 3 metre displacement on a straight road as the result of a 7.1 magnitude earthquake on 4th September 2010

Nature trying to do its best?

That would be something like 7000 aftershocks ago, I understand. (nothing under m1.6...)

We had a 4.4 just after 6am today, with a few more smaller ones then another 4.4 at 2:40pm this afternoon. Seems like we are going for a record number of shakes.

Rats!! People here are getting heartly sick of the shaking everyday since Sept 4th last year. Where is the OFF switch?

Wow! Amazing! I saw something similar in San Francisco area, from the 1906 earthquake there. The 2010 & 2011 earthquakes were very bad in Christchurch... I hope things are better now! Best regards, André.
