Hiya Karin... This was the beach I mentioned in an earlier post to you and GG.. It is lovely isn't it? And so few people! Just one or two, usually with their dogs, just enjoying the closeness of the sea and the sunset...

Hi Steve, Yes its gorgeous, I also like the non-crowded beaches, just for a great walk on the beach and indeed enjoy the sunset !

Very nice Steve , so this is the picture you said you had of the sunset LIKED ... The beaches down the South West are isolated as well have them all to yourself and some around here as well.

Best wishes Marion

Hiya Marion - This is one of the sunset pictures I have of the beach... I'll pop some of the others up in the next few days...

Just out of interest, the tides in this part of the coast are incredible. If you look at what looks like the second promontory of land (to the left of the photo) this is actually Ramsey Island. It is only a few kilometres off the mainland but because of the way the sea bed shelves, the tides rip through the gap at a hell of a rate. Whirlpools, undercurrents and all sorts of hazards wait for the unwary... Fabulous!!

Wow, what a setting for a new moon! There is something about an ocean landscape for sunrises and sunsets that is hard to beat! *Like & Y!!

Sounds like a wild, lonely place...a photographer's dream!

Hiya JF - The Lake District is my favourite spot along with the island of Orkney... but this year we also went to the south west of Wales and this beach and the surrounding coastline has placed it into our short list of favourites...

To see the moon rise soon after the sun dipped below the horizon was lovely. Enhanced, I might add, by a nip or two of a good malt!

Thanks for the YS and like...

Very beautiful Steve, looks sooo peaceful & serene. You seem to have a lot of NIPS when looking at sunsets! Dont worry, haven't seen any lopsided horizons as yet :-))) LIKE..LOZ

Steven Stoddart on November 11, 2010

Hiya Loz - Ah... Marion did not tell me you had a sharp eye!! Well, why not? I get plastered just looking at the Whisky so, believe me, a nip is all that passes my lips! What's more, it happens after taking the shot!

Thanks for your appreciation of this... next time I toast the sunset, I will think of you!
