Humber River Dam

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Humber River is a wonderful place in the fall. In September/October, the Coho salmon is heading up the river and jumps over these dams. Last year (2010) was one of the bigger runs and it was really something to see!

I wanted to photograph the salmon jumping over this dam, but, at that time my tiny camera had a long delay, when pressing shutter and also I did not have tele lens, only 3x zoom.

The sign is for no fishing within 60 meter from the dam. We have signs for everything! There is also a sign Swimming at your own risk, as the water is in some places up to 60 cm deep!!!

Dear TomRose, it is possible that my professional orientation had some influence (anyway photo is great) but I like this photo, very much...L19 Greetings from Serbia, Veljko

Veljko, thank you for looking at some older photos +L. This photo is bit too dark, I never had much luck there with the light condition.

I do not think this is much of the river for you. You can not go on it even with a canoe, only on the very bottom of it.
