Isn't that great. Just enough time to do a great effect on the river, and yet the flag is spot on. Exceptional job all round!

Boats a night in a long exposure shot, I will be there. I think you are also getting to know your camera by now. Nice capture Jim.

I also like your message about the repetitive use of a certain word. That particular button, could be pressed without much talk about it. Good on you!

Greetings, Gabe

Dåʀĸ It was at this moment that the realisation hit home Si..The possibilities are manifold and we are just scratching the surface...;>)

GordJessPhotos~~~~Finally, I get to reply Gords Girl...the photo shoot was a big adventure into the unknown (realms of photography that is) and I had no idea what to expect..You can imagine my surprise when these appeared on my computer screen...The furry thing had a great time on the beach chasing off the shore birds..I'm glad you enjoyed these shots ;>)

OLYMPIST ©~~~~Many thanks....It is an honour to receive such generous praise..Your Y* means a great deal to me ;>)

Samantha Lacy ღ-----Well my dear Sam, I have heard of skating on thin ice but me dancing the Bolero !! the mind boggles ;>)

Gabor Retei~~~~I was determined to use this camera as the maker intended Gabe...Oddly, I have since learned to understand the settings of my little NIKON a whole lot more ;>)

Mirenterese----I am so glad you enjoyed this photo ;.)

Hooman javadi~~~~~A warm welcome my friend ;>) thank you for your thoughtful words ;>)

Puna----It is a pleasure to receive your visit Anand, and an honour to receive such glowing praise ..As for the fishing, since my boat engine expired earlier this year, I was unable to follow my favourite pastime ;>)

Laurentiu Mitu~~~~Good to see you posting stuff again Lorenzo , I'm glad you stopped by ;>)

mbcre8~~~~~Thanks for taking the time to look and for the heads-up too Dave ;>)

Very nice colourful night shot - looks a little like the harbour area of Gibsons, British Columbia, where I live.

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on October 30, 2010

zanot10~~~~Hi! Thank you..I do think that night shots are an attractive addition to ones gallery..I am glad you liked this shot ;>)

seabow---The very name of your state tells me that the British influence would have been significant during those far off colonial times..British Columbia is the producer of timber products and the home of lumber-jacks if my memory serves me well..

Lɩɢћт----"_And the Lord said---Let their be light and etc etc. Good choice for your galleries Si..I've saved em both ;>)

The water was perfectly "frozen", Jim. :)) It could almost be a skating rink.
