Can anyone tell me the history of this building? Is it original? I am researching my ancestor in Lithuania and he may have been a member here in the late 1800's. I am wondering if this was the only Lutheran Church in Tauroggen and if it was ever damaged and rebuilt? Thanks!

@dwixwoe -

Taurage's first church was built in 1766-1768 with the Prussian king Friedrich the Great aid, in 1835 it burned, in 1836-1843 church was built at this location, near the former church, in 1914 War destroyed the church tower, which was restored only in 1938

a bit of history, more you can read German or Lithuanian translation

good luck to you!!!
