Matthew, I love the idea of unpicking architecture & landscape & flattening them out like a tapestry! It adds an extra dimension - so to speak - to the artistry.

One of my first experiences of 'mediated imagery', so to speak, was when I was taken to see the Camera Obscura at Cliftn Down, Bristol, as a schoolgirl. Just amazing - an outside 360 panorama...inside!

Thanks Sarah. They have a camera obscura in Edinburgh, too. It's fun to watch people walking around the castle with no idea they are being watched.
