I've had to look up what Purina Chows are to understand what it is. They look like models of different houses done with cardbord by some architectural students.

I like this picture, Ryan! May

Yes, Purina is pet food. I don't have any idea if this structure is still in use. It's right by the railroad, but I don't know if the trains stop here or not. It is kind of an odd building to see in the middle of a town, though.

There's no sidewalk around here, or place to park very close, so I rolled slowly by and timed my shot through traffic. Thanks, May!

:D

This is the first time I've seen an elevator with a company brand name on it.

Thank you for posting it Ryan. :)

Thanks, Pam. I've never seen another one like either, and there's no attached silo. I suppose it might be left over from the original Purina Farms, before the large food distribution company started. I'm glad you like it! :-)

To whomever attempted to relocate this photo:

The marker on this photo is already in exactly the correct position, from the pavement of Meramec Station Rd, looking across 141. Thank you for your interest.

Is the marker supposed to indicate where the building IS or where the pic was taken from? If where the building is, the marker is on the wrong side of 141. Seems to me if someone wanted to go see it, the directions to the marker would mislead them. As for the trains...yes they used to stop there as the tracks were at grade level. With that area being prone to severe flooding, the tracks were raised years ago. Just to the east is the old Frisco Hotel. VP was a pretty active railroad town.
