Spring In DownEast Maine Is No Picnic [w/comment]

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

This shot taken mid-April, and even with the moderating effect of the ocean not too far away, the frozen dampness is just penetrating.

This week, no one is very interested in using a picnic table crusted in snow and ice.

Bánfalvi Suzi Natuska said (translated from Hungarian), Dear my friend! Thank you for the kind remark! I do not take it unfortunately punctually. I do not speak in English. The translator is not good! You live very in the north , there is cold very much there ?? I look at your photos gladly and I make the acquaintance of the beautiful country ! My friendly greeting, Natuska from Hungary

Wally, I moved to California for business and stayed for the weather and the unique geographic location. Maine is an area I never got to know personally. What I do know is spring comes late and when does the area comes to life. "It really comes to life". Arcadia National Park, the spectacular forrest, rocky coast of Maine are a photographer's dream. The fall brings color and light that adds to the dream. In California it is so mild you get none of this. However it does have a unique beauty of it's own. Photography allows us to share that beauty in a personal way. Your photo is abundance waiting to happen and the sky already knows it. Soooo its a "Like" waiting to be a "Favorite" >>>Friendship, and warmmmm!!!! Regards, Richard from Northern California
