What means "national" ornaments ?

Ainars M -2 on September 4, 2007

Hi Polytropos, tnx for asking!

National ornaments can be observed over main entry doors and under third and forth floor window aisles. Over doors are symbols of Jumis But under windows aisles are typical signs of sun (just placed there in mirrors, like in sun reflections).

All this details are characteristics to national architecture styles in Latvia 1920-1940. Not many houses are with this details, I'll follow for more if see somewhere, but I dont know many samples in central part of Riga.

Cheers ainars.
